Gloria G HughesI am a passionate lover of life, wife, mother, co-creator, who takes delight in experiencingthe fullness of God in each moment of life, and have a great desire for othersto connect with the creative spirit within all of God creation. I am aneducator and a life-long learner. I graduated from Poteau High School in 1976, The University of Central Oklahomain 1980 (with a B.M.E. in Music Education), Pfeiffer University 2005 with aM.A.C.E., and continued theological studies at Wesley Theological Seminary andHood Theological Seminary. I am married to Chris B Hughes from Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and between us wehave 5 children, two sons-in-love, ages 19-29. Weare currently living and serving in extension ministry in Ft. Walton Beach Florida. We live among and seek to serve the condo community at Pier One. I am the founder, designer, and ministry consultant for viaCREATIVA, a liturgical art ministry. I am available for workshops, consultation, and excited about being a co-creative partner with you. I am also a co-founder of the Foundation for Christian Formation with my husband Chris and dear friends, Ed and Kathleen Kilbourne. Other Interests: - Biking – I am an amateur cyclist but an experienced crash survivor!
- Cooking – love trying new recipes and sharing the kitchen with Chris and Chels
- Reading – give me a large overstuffed chair and I can get lost in a really good read. I also love sitting in my favorite Pier 1 chair at the beach with a book in hand.
- Walking on the beach – can’t get enough of the sand between my toes.
- Jazz music – love the old traditional jazz performed by such artists as Count Basie, Dave Brubeck, Paul Desmond, Dizzy Gillespie, The Stan Kenton Orchestra, Super Sax, Phil Woods, the Duke, to name a few.
- Sunsets on the beach – love them, love them, love them!
- Sewing - love being in the studio. I just cannot get enough of my creative space.
- Hanging out with our five children – no exceptions!!!!! (ok, maybe when they are hungry, tired, or grumpy)
- Guitar – Have one. Love to look at it. Love to hear it played by a real player.
- Djembe (drum) – just plain fun.
- nitting – not a master of this craft but feel very connected to my mother and grandmother who have both passed. They were skilled knitters and I have inherited their needles, yarn, and love to create something for others.
- Laughing – to key to a healthy life!!!
- Life – want to live it to the fullest!
